Selling products online means your pictures are very important in attracting your customers to your shop. This doesn't mean you need a big studio with professional photographers and crazy equipment. But I have discovered it to be much more helpful to use the skills of the people I know to help me produce better results than I was achieving on my own.
A simple white foam board for a backdrop turns the front porch into our "photo studio". My talented daughter is now on the payroll as photographer, and my beautiful friends model what I make. Ruby uses a Canon Rebel t5i with a 50mm lens. We try for a uniform white background (we're still perfecting that) with natural light. And we use the free Picassa photo storage and editing program.
Adding Ruby's photographic skills, and using live models, sure has improved my etsy shop's overall appearance, in my opinion. And they are simple adjustments to my previous system of "I can do it all myself". I am learning that even though I can do it myself, very often, having some help is even better!
Ear warmer button headbands are now available in the shop in a variety of colors and sizes.
